Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has confirmed that he's making a "Star Wars" movie for Disney's upcoming streaming platform in collaboration with Lucasfilm's Kathleen Kennedy. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Feige has a major movie star in mind for his movie. A top Disney source says Kennedy remains in charge with no plans for any changes.
Walt Disney Studios co-chairman and chief creative officer Alan Horn said in conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, `We are excited about the projects Kathy and the Lucasfilm team are working on, not only in terms of Star Wars but also Indiana Jones and reaching into other parts of the company including Children of Blood and Bone with Emma Watts and Fox. With the close of the Skywalker Saga, Kathy is pursuing a new era in Star Wars storytelling, and knowing what a die-hard fan Kevin is, it made sense for these two extraordinary producers to work on a Star Wars film together.`
Feige's secret "Star Wars" film is not the only project Lucasfilm is bringing to Disney's streaming service. Jon Favreau's "The Mandolorian" and other separate projects from Rian Johnson and the team of David Benioff and D.B Weiss are also slated after the launch of Disney + in November. Lucasfilm also has J.J Abrams' directed "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" ready for the theatrical release of December 20th this year
