Greg Daniels and Steve Carell have added actors Ben Schwartz and John Malkovich for their space-bound comedy "Space Force."
Malkovich will play Dr. Adrian Mallory, the brilliant, arrogant head science advisor who hopes to prevent outer space from becoming the next international battlefield.
Ben Schwartz will play F. Tony Scarapiducci, a media consultant whose Machiavellian goals only sometimes align with those of Naird (played by Steve Carell ) or Space Force.
"Space Force " is a comedy series that is based on Donald Trump's decision to send out a military branch to space in order to protect American interests. Similar to his show "The Office, " Greg's new show will be a workplace comedy about people on Earth tasked with creating the new command. Carell stars as Gen. Mark R. Naird, who has been tapped by the White House to get "boots on the moon" by 2024.
The series also stars Steve Carell, Tawny Newsome, Diana Silvers, Jimmy O. Yang, and Alex Sparrow. The show will be coming to the streaming giant Netflix in the year 2020.
