"Crazy Rich Asians" and "Maniac" actress Sonoyo Mizuno has joined the cast for HBO Max's "The Flight Attendant. "Mizuno has "The Big Bang Theory" star Kaley Cuoco (also the executive producer) in the thriller series for HBO's streaming service.

"The Flight Attendant" is based on a novel by Chris Bohjalian, will star Cuoco as the flight attendant Cassandra Bowden, who wakes in her hotel room hungover from the night before in Dubai with a dead body lying next to her. Afraid to call the police, she continues her morning as if nothing happened, joining the other flight attendants and pilots traveling to the airport.

In New York, she is met by FBI agents who question her about her recent layover in Dubai. Still unable to piece the night together, she begins to wonder if she could be the killer. Mizuno will play Miranda, a savvy and potentially dangerous businesswoman Cassie meets in Bangkok.

"The Flight Attendant" is one of a dozen original series greenlit at HBO Max, which plans to launch in spring 2020.
