Andre Ovredal is following up on the success of "Scary Stories To Tell in the Dark" with a Dracula movie. The project, titled "The Last Voyage of the Demeter" is next on the filmmaker's agenda. The film is based on Bram Stoker's classic novel "Dracula" about seminal vampire's sea voyage to England aboard The Demeter.
The script written by Bragi Schut will tell the tale of that journey, in which the crew is slaughtered one by one by a mysterious passenger. Mike Medavoy, Brad Fischer, and Arnold Messer, the producers behind such films as "Black Swan," Shutter Island," and "Zodiac" are producing the project.
Ovredal will start working on the movie after completing his tenure on the Stephen King adaptation "The Long Walk" and fantasy adventure film "Mortal" starring Natt Wolff. Øvredal has also directed movies like "The Autopsy of Jane Doe" and "Trollhunter."
