"Underground" director Len Wiseman has been tapped to direct the "John Wick" spin-off. The action spin-off titled "Ballerina" has been given the green light from the film company Lionsgate. Wiseman has plenty of experience in the action genre, having directed "Live Free or Die Hard, "Sleepy Hollow," and "Swamp Thing."

"Ballerina" as the title suggests, the film follows a ballerina who seeks revenge for the death of her family, and of course, she has more deadly skills than your average dancer. Wiseman will be working from a script by Shay Hatten. Unity Phelan has been credited as character Ballerina in "John Wick 3," but it remains to be seen if she will lead the spin-off.

The picture is being produced by Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee and Chad Stahelski, and Keanu Reeves coming to executive produce along with Kaley Smalley, head of development for Wiseman's Sketch Films.
