Robert Eggers' next movie will be "The Northman." It is going to be a 10th century revenge drama steeped in Viking tradition.

`The Northman` is set in Iceland at the turn of the 10th century. It centers around a Nordic prince who set outs on a mission of revenge after his father is murdered. Sources report that Alexander Skarsgård is the first choice to play the prince.

Other cast members being considered by Eggers are Bill Skarsgård, Nicole Kidman, Willem Dafoe and Anna Taylor-Joy.

Meanwhile, his latest directorial effort "The Lighthouse" starring Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe has received tremendous praise at the film festivals and has a theatrical release of October 18, 2019.
