Let's address the elephant in the room, i.e, the possibility of seeing "Fight Club" allusions in "Daniel Isn't Real." Based on the novel "In This Way I Was Saved" by Brian DeLeeuw, the movie tells the story of a troubled college freshman, Luke(Miles Robbins), suffers a violent family trauma and resurrects his childhood imaginary friend Daniel (Patrick Schwarzenegger) to help him cope while balancing a romance with Cassie (Sasha Lane).
"Daniel Isn't Real" is written by Adam Egypt Mortimer and Brian DeLeeuw, with Adam Egypt Mortimer directing the film. The movie stars Miles Robbins, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sasha Lane, Hannah Marks, Katie Chang, Mary Stuart Masterson in starring roles.
"Daniel Isn't Real" had its world premiere at South by Southwest film festival on March 9, 2019. It is scheduled to be released on December 6, 2019, by Samuel Goldwyn Films.
