After Billy Porter, Idina Menzel is in talks with Sony for their live-action adaptation of "Cinderella." The Frozen" star, if all goes well, will play the role of evil stepmother in the Camilla Cabello lead adaptation.

Kay Cannon, who helmed the blockbuster coming of age sex comedy "Blockers" last will write and direct with a story from James Corden. Corden will also serve as a producer on the project, along with Leo Pearlman and Jonathan Kadin.

Idina Menzel came into prominence in with her Broadway performances. She will also be seen in Safdie Brothers' upcoming thriller "Uncut Gems" opposite Adam Sandler.
