It seems like the sun hasn't set for the Pirates of the Caribbean as an official reboot is in the works by Disney. "Chernobyl" creator Craig Mazin has been brought on board to pen the script for the sixth installment for the series.

Mazin has been saddled with the franchise scribe Ted Elliot who co-wrote The Curse of the Black Pearl, Dead Man's Chest, At World's End, and On Stranger Tides. Jerry

Bruckheimer is expected to come back as a producer.

The reboot has tried to move forward with the hiring of the Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick last year. The duo, however, left the project early this year. While the return of Johnny Depp remains uncertain with the project still in the development stage, it would be interesting to see how the franchise will find its way under Mazin and Elliot.
