The Beetlejuice and Batman star Michael Keaton will be seen in Aaron Sorkin's "The Trial of Chicago Seven." Keaton is set to play the lawyer Ramsey Clark, an imminent presence in the history of American Civil Rights.
Written and Directed by Oscar-winning screenwriter Aaron Sorkin(A Few Good Men, Moneyball), The Trial of Chicago Seven is based on the story a group of seven defendants charged by the federal government with conspiracy, inciting to riot, and other charges related to anti-Vietnam and counterculture protests that took place in Chicago, Illinois, on the occasion of 1968 Democratic National Convention.
Keeton has joined an impressive cast comprising of William Hurt, Frank Langella, Mark Rylance, Eddie Redmayne, Sacha Baron Cohen, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Alex Sharp, Jeremy Strong, Kelvin Harrison Jr., and J.C. MacKenzie. The movie will open in select theatres on September 25 next year before getting a wide theatrical release of October 2 next year, placing it right in the awards season slot.
The production of the film is currently underway.
