Emily Beechum (Badlands, Daphne) stars as Alice, a single mother and a dedicated senior plant breeder at a corporation engaged in developing new species. Against company policy, she takes one home as a gift for her teenage son, Joe. Soon, the plant begins to develop a mind of its own and things go south very soon.
Co-written by Jessica Hausner and Geraldine Bajard and directed by Jessica Hausner, the movie stars Emily Beechum, Ben Whishaw, Kerry Fox, Kit Connor, David Wilmot, Leanne Best, Lindsay Duncan, and Goran Kostic.
"Little Joe" premiered at Cannes Film Festival on May 17 this year where it competed for the Palme d'Or. Emily Beechum won the award for Best Actress. The movie has a release date of December 6. 2019 in The United States and February 21, 2020, in the United Kingdom.
