Bill Candon, the director of Holmes and the live-action version of Beauty and the Beast is bringing a never seen before perspective to "A Christmas Carol." Candon will be teaming up with Disney for Marley, a musical version of the classic Christmas story.
"Marley" will tell the classic story from the eyes of protagonist Ebenezer Scrooge's deceased business partner, Jacob Marley. Everyone is aware of Ebenezer Scrooge as the miser protagonist whose perspective changes when he is visited by the Ghosts of Christmas past, present, and future; but this is the first time we get to see and hear this story from Marley's point of view.
Bill Condon will be directing his own script with Dan Jinks, Greg Yolen and Glenn Geller will be serving as producers. Oscar-winning music composer Stephen Schwartz will handle the musical reins for the project.
