Not that Lady Gaga needs any acclaim, but Bradley Cooper's "A Star is Born" has rocketed her status as an actor. Gaga, who won an Oscar for her song "Shallow" was also nominated for an Oscar for her performance in "A Star is Born." Now, the pop star has joined the Ridley Scott film about the Maurizio Gucci assassination.
Lady Gaga will play Patrizia Reggiani, the wife of Maurizio Gucci, who was convicted of planning the assassination of her husband. Patrizia is said to have hired the hitman that shot down the former head of the fashion empire Gucci. She was given a prison sentence of 29 years but came out in 2016 owing to good behavior.
Roberto Bentivegna is writing the screenplay based on Sara Gay Forden's book "The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed." The project, however, might not see the light of the day for a long time as Ridley Scott will first work on "The Last Duel" starring Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Jodie Comer, and Adam Driver.
