BAFTA is one of the most prestigious awards globally. Recently, the 73rd BAFTA ceremony was held at the Royal Albert Hall in London on Sunday, February 2nd. Hosted by Graham Norton the awards honoured the Best National and foreign language films of 2019.
The maximum number of awards was grabbed by Sam Mendes` WW1 drama film 1917 that swept away six awards at the night. The film won the award for the Best Film, Best Director, Special visual effects, best Sound, Cinematography and Production & design. The other film that bagged the most awards after 1917 was Todd Philips` psychological thriller movie Joker that had 11 nominations, it won the Leading Actor award, Original score, and Casting award.
The other major winners are Renee Zellweger as the Leading actress for the film Judy, Brad Pitt as the supporting actor for Ones upon a time in Hollywood, Laura Dem as the supporting actress for Marriage Story. Jojo Rabbit bagged the award for Adapted screenplay, and the Korean film Parasite got the award for Original Screenplay.
