During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show this week to promote Spenser Confidential, Wahlberg spoke about his character and the film's plot: `He was a former police officer who just basically cannot stand when somebody is being wronged, especially innocent people,` he began.
`So there's a homicide within the police department, there's a lot of corruption going on. He tries to do all the things right to get them to find out who's responsible, they're kind of sandbagging the investigation, so he decides to go after his superiors himself,` he said.
The star was joined at the screening by co-stars Winston Duke, Alan Arkin, Iliza Shlesinger, and Alexandra Vino.On hand, too, was director Peter Berg, who helmed Wahlberg's movies Lone Survivor, Deepwater Horizon and Patriots Day. The film drops on Netflix on March 6.
