Christian Bale, who previously played the DC superhero 'Batman' in Christopher Nolan's critically-acclaimed The Dark Knight trilogy, is all set to make his debut into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Tessa Thompson, who plays Valkyrie and the new king of Asgard following the events of 'Avengers: Endgame', confirmed that Christian Bale will play the antagonist in the fourth Thor movie, 'Love and Thunder'. She added that she's read the script and there's been "lots of excited text messages" between her and Lady Thor, Natalie Portman. "We're going to have fun. Taika is writing and directing. Some familiar faces. Some new people coming into the mix. Christian Bale is going to play our villain, which is going to be fantastic", Thompson said.
Oscar-winning Writer-Director Taika Waititi will again be helming the sequel to his MCU's 2017 blockbuster 'Thor: Ragnarok'. Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, and Tessa Thompson are reprising their characters of Norse God Thor, Jane Foster, and Valkyrie respectively.
The fans are experiencing a gush of emotions as they cannot wait to see Hollywood star Christian Bale mark his entry into the MCU too. The actor's credentials include films like the 2004 psychological thriller 'The Machinist', 'The Prestige' and the recent sports drama 'Ford v Ferrari'. Unfortunately, even though Bale will play the antagonist, the identity of his character hasn't been revealed yet, since Marvel Studios or parent company Disney is yet to confirm his casting.
'Thor: Love and Thunder' is being directed by Taika Waititi. The film is the sequel to 'Thor: Ragnarok' and the fourth movie in the Thor saga. It is set after the events of 'Avengers: Endgame'. The film will release in November 2021.
