The bad guy has created an army of brainwashed soldiers who seemingly have one goal: to kill Natasha and her surrogate family. That group includes her `sister` Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), mother-figure and rival Melina Vostokoff, a.k.a. The Iron Maiden (Rachel Weisz), and father-figure and Russian superhero Red Guardian (David Harbour). Massive action set pieces soon follow.
But unlike previous trailers for Black Widow, this latest teaser adds a bit more levity to the group's relationship-a stinger expands on a `family meal` scene shown in prior promotional materials-and does a better job of bringing the chemistry between Johansson and Pugh to the forefront.
Of all the details in the Black Widow trailer revealed Monday, however, perhaps the most significant is this: Disney still plans to release the film on May 1, despite the increasing spread of the coronavirus and the ensuing panic that has gripped global financial markets.
