With many Hollywood productions suspending filming due to the coronavirus outbreak, some medical dramas are lending a hand to their real-life counterparts by donating supplies like face masks, hospital gowns and gloves to hospitals treating coronavirus patients.

Hospitals nationwide have been overrun with patients needing treatment and testing for coronavirus. The number of confirmed coronavirus cases jumped over 40% to more than 9,400 across the U.S. Thursday morning, and one Centers for Disease Control forecast predicted millions could possibly need hospitalization. Medical workers have taken to social media to share their often-dwindling numbers of vital medical supplies.

Several star actors have already been infected- actor Tom Hanks and his wife, actress Rita Wilson had to self-isolate after becoming infected with coronavirus in Australia. Actor Idris Elba also announced Monday that he too had tested positive for the virus.
