Jason Bateman is this week's host, which is good because the show's been lacking a smarmy know-it-all who's usually wrong since Dennis Miller was on Weekend Update.

But Bateman still knows where the mark is when it comes to being funny. And even though these days he's only really known for being a morally depraved self-righteous man engaged in shady business dealings for the good of his family (Ozark), or a morally depraved self-righteous man engaged in shady business dealings for the good of his family (Arrested Development).

But he's now on SNL, where he'll get to show a whole range of different characters, from sketch to sketch. He's charming. He's got timing. And he knows how to work an audience. It's in his blood. What with having been a child actor and all.
