Chris Pine is reportedly in talks to star in the long-gestating Dungeons & Dragons movie. As one of the "Hollywood Chrises," Pine has proved to be a valuable onscreen player over the years. After accumulating a slew of romcom roles early in his career, Pine became a household name when he was cast as James T. Kirk in J.J. Abrams' rebooted Star Trek franchise. From there, he went on to play a vital role in 2017's Wonder Woman, taking on the part of love interest Steve Trevor. He'll reprise that role in Wonder Woman 1984 later this month.
The newest Dungeons & Dragons movie has taken a long time to get rolling, with development beginning back in 2015. Initially, Ansel Elgort was approached to star, but those plans eventually fell apart.
In the years since, Dungeons & Dragons bounced between directors and writers before settling on Game Night duo John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein last year. Now, the fantasy adventure film is moving ever closer to production.
