Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 is a sequel to the 1997 classic Border, which depicted the events of the 1971 Battle of Longewala. The original film, helmed by J.P. Dutta, featured a stellar cast including Sunny Deol, Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Akshaye Khanna, and Tabu.
A Star-Studded Cast & Patriotic Storyline
The sequel boasts a powerful ensemble, including Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, and Varun Dhawan. While the original film was based on the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War, Border 2 is expected to focus on the 1999 Kargil War, a significant conflict where Pakistani troops infiltrated Indian territory across the Line of Control (LoC).
Backed by a stellar production team, including Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta, Border 2 is presented by Gulshan Kumar & T-Series in association with JP Dutta’s J.P. Films. The film promises a spectacular cinematic experience of patriotism, courage, and sacrifice.
Release Date & Varun Dhawan’s Tribute to the Army
The film is slated for a grand theatrical release on January 23, 2026.
On January 15, to honor Army Day, Varun Dhawan paid tribute to the real heroes of India. The actor took to Instagram, sharing pictures of himself with Indian jawans.
