Filmmaker Baz Luhrmann's scrapped "Alexander the Great" movie may be made after all - after the disappointing response to Oliver Stone's "Alexander", reported the
Internet Media Database.
The two films were due to go head to head at the box office until Luhrmann's movie - due to star Leonardo DiCaprio and Nicole Kidman - was delayed and then axed in
November last year.
But veteran producer Dino de Laurentiis has resurrected the picture, after Stone's "Alexander", starring Colin Farrell and Angelina Jolie, attracted unfavourable reviews from
critics and cinemagoers.
The 85-year-old de Laurentiis says: "It will be the Alexander that everyone has been waiting for. I don't want to hit out against Oliver Stone, who merits respect. But his
picture was certainly flawed, and was missing the spine of a screen play."
