The upcoming film, 'Batman Begins', will be simultaneously released in IMAX theatres and conventional
35mm theatres on June 17, 2005, the IMAX Corporation and Warner Bros. have announced.
"This film will be the latest in a series of fantastic Warner Bros. Pictures releases which have helped
change the way moviegoers experience Hollywood movies," Zap2It quoted IMAX Co- Chairmen Richard L.
Gelfond as saying to the Hollywood Reporter.
'Batman Begins', which explores the origins of the Batman legend and the Dark Knight's emergence as a
force for good in Gotham, is scripted and directed by Christopher Nolan, and features Christian Bale as
Batman, Michael Caine, Katie Holmes, Liam Neeson, Morgan Freeman, Tom Wilkinson and Cillian
Murphy.
It will be the eighth digitally-remastered Warners movie to premiere in IMAX theaters. Previous
Warner/IMAX releases include films from the 'Matrix' and 'Harry Potter' series, and most recently, 'The
Polar Express', which was presented in 3D.
