Actor/rapper Will Smith says he wants some day to be president of the United States.

"I really, truly believe I could be the president of the United States if I wanted to," the Washington Post quoted Smith as saying Tuesday, citing several non-U.S. news reports."Somebody could probably lay out all of the reasons for me why that will never happen, but there's a weird naivete that I have that I truly believe it," he said.

Smith has built a career as a Hollywood super star through his work in such films as "Independence Day," "Men in Black I and II," "Enemy of the State" and "Shark Tale."Smith made the remarks while touring Australia to promote his new film, "Hitch."
