A Canadian woman is suing comedian Bill Cosby for allegedly drugging and sexually assaulting her about a year ago at his Philadelphia area mansion.
Andrea Constand had taken her accusation to authorities in the Philadelphia area, where Cosby lives, but after an investigation they determined there was not enough
evidence to establish guilt beyond a reasonable doubt, the Philadelphia Daily News reported Wednesday.
Now Constand, who was director of operations for the Temple women's basketball team, has filed suit in federal court, saying a January 2004 incident at Cosby's mansion
resulted in battery, assault, invasion of privacy, defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
Constand's lawyers are seeking in excess of $150,000, plus their fees and punitive damages.
The suit says Constand has "suffered serious and debilitating injuries, mental anguish, humiliation, embarrassment, physical and emotional upset, including, but not limited
to, post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, sleeplessness, isolation, flashbacks and anxiety."
