Rod Stewart is ready to walk down the aisle again. The 60-year-old singer is reported to have proposed to model Penny Lancaster, 33, his girlfriend of five years, atop the Eiffel Towel.

According to Sky News and the New York Post, he got down on bended knee, popped the question and produced a diamond engagement ring. He said: "I love you - will you marry me."

Stewart had whisked Lancaster to Paris on a private jet, along with her parents, ahead of her 34th birthday.

The couple plan to wed either this summer or at Christmas. But there is just one problem.

According to sources, Stewart hasn't yet finalised his divorce from second wife and struggling actress Rachel Hunter, who is said to dislike Lancaster.
