Animal activists took protests against Jennifer Lopez's use of fur to new heights by parading images of animals skinned alive in front of diners at her restaurant Pasadena in
California.
According to the Internet Media Database, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) followers also displayed large posters of the actress attached with the
words "Fur Hag" and placards featuring images of orphaned animals and the caption "J Lo: These Babies Miss Their Mother - Is She on Your Back?"
The activism, which is part of a campaign to shame Lopez for "promoting and profiting from the bloody fur industry", comes on the heels of the February debut of Lopez's
fur-laden fashion collection Sweetface.
"Lopez continues to pimp for the fur industry despite the fact that PETA has contacted her no less than a dozen times, pleading with her to stop supporting the horrific
abuse of animals killed for their fur," a PETA spokesperson said.
PETA has also launched an anti-J Lo website JLodown.com, which urges the star to stop wearing fur.
