Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter is blaming former girlfriend Paris Hilton for his drunken driving, reports celebrity portal Femalefirst.

The couple split last year amid allegations that he had hit her. But the handsome star, who was reportedly still not over the party girl hotel heiress, had taken to the bottle to numb his pain, his friends have said

Carter, 25, was pulled up for drunken driving March 5 in Los Angeles, and could now receive a fine of $1,500 and restriction on his license. He is scheduled to appear at an arraignment April 13.

"He still hasn't got over her. He begged her to get back together but she wanted to continue playing the field," a friend was quoted as saying.
