Sandra Bullock has revealed that her mother's dying wish was to see her married.

The 40-year-old actress, who has never wed, had always been told by her mother never to rely on a man, Internet portal Femalefirst reported. But on her deathbed, Sandra's mom admitted she was disappointed that her daughter never settled down.

The "Speed" star said: "My mom kept me in a house that was like a chastity belt until I was 18. So I had already missed a lot of hormonal fun, but she was like, 'Don't rely on a man. Do your own thing'."

Sandra said before her mother died she asked her wistfully: "So you don't think maybe you are going to get married?" Sandra's reply was: "Mom! You were the one who said not to! Now that you're dying, I'm supposed to get married?"
