John Travolta claims he would never have been able to get over his mother's death had he not taken to Scientology - which preaches applying scientific methodology to
answer spiritual questions.
The "Grease" actor, the youngest of six children, was devastated when his mother passed away due to cancer in 1979.
Travolta says Scientology helped fill the vacuum left in him after his mother's death.
"I don't know what I would have done without it. It's answered so many questions for me in regard to the knowledge of life and how to live it," Travolta said.
"To say there was a gap before Scientology is an understatement. The mystery of life was so confusing. It's certainly helped me."
