Matt Damon worked as an undercover cop to research for his new crime movie "The Departed".

The "Ocean's Twelve" star who will star alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Jack Nicholson in the Martin Scorsese film got a hands-on experience in drug and gang busting by joining the Massachusetts police, reports the celebrity portal Femalefirst.

"We showed him frisk tactics and pat downs. He seemed like he had a pretty good working knowledge already. Things weren't going over his head," the sergeant was quoted as saying.

On the last day of his three-day caper, Matt also got to watch from an unmarked police vehicle as detectives arrested three suspects and recovered $1,000 in drug money.
