David Beckham flew his wife's favourite hairdresser from England to Spain to celebrate the former Spice Girl's 31st birthday at the weekend.

The Real Madrid soccer ace, who was unable to join wife Victoria on her big day, surprised her by jetting the coiffeur over to the Spanish capital for a pampering treat, celebrity portal Femalefirst reports.

A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "It was David's idea to fly in the hairdresser.

"Victoria had her hair done after her birthday lunch while her parents took (their children) Brooklyn and Romeo to a local park."

Pop star Victoria, who gave birth to the couple's third son, Cruz, last month, celebrated her birthday with parents and her three children at a sumptuous lunch in the family's lavish Madrid mansion.
