Pregnant pop diva Britney Spears is determined to keep working after her baby is born.

The ambitious "Toxic" superstar plans to follow in the footsteps of friend and mentor Madonna - insisting she has no intention of retiring to become a full-time mother, reports Ireland Online.

"She sees Madonna as her inspiration. She can't give up her career because she has so many ambitions left," a friend was quoted as saying.

"She's still writing songs and is looking for acting roles because she still feels she has a lot to prove."
