"Friends" star Courteney Cox has been signed up to appear in a comedy film named "Zoom".

She is set to appear alongside Tim Allen in the film based on Jason Lethcoe's graphic novel "Zoom's Academy for the Super Gifted" based on an ex-superhero who is called upon to train the next generation of heroes, reports Internet portal Ananova.

The movie that begins shooting in July has Cox playing a scientist involved in the superhero programme.
