Mariah Carey is planning to turn her "Merry Christmas" album into a Broadway musical.

The pop diva, 35, will be penning a story based on the songs of the 1994 album and will include two new songs she is planning to write, reports Ireland Online.

According to Mariah, the musical will be fun and something families can go to see.

"I'm such a festive person, and I love Christmas. I get a chance to live out my Christmastime fantasies vicariously through the show," the singer said.
