Renee Zellweger's besotted new husband, country singer Kenny Chesney, says he is "the luckiest man alive" after marrying the Hollywood star.

The smitten pair, who met at a tsunami fundraiser in January, married May 10 in a private ceremony for 40 guests on the Caribbean island resort of St John.

The country singer has since written on his website: "I may well be the luckiest man alive to be so much in love with someone who is so perfect for me. It is just hard to imagine that I am not going to wake up and find it's a dream."
