Paris Hilton insists she's more intelligent than people think - she just doesn't like to show it.

The blonde beauty believes her image as a vapid party girl is completely unfair, as she's always been proud of her classroom achievements.

"I'm a lot smarter than most people think. I just don't like to show it. I always got good grades in school," Internet portal Femalefirst quoted the hotel heiress as saying.

The "Simple Life" star is currently in a pursuit to stamp out the popular conception that she's a horrible person. "I realise I'm lucky - and people shouldn't hate me for that," Hilton said.

"I'm not my fault that I was born with all this. I'm lucky and I thank God. I help people, I give money away and I do a lot of things for people. I'm so sweet. I'm too nice."
