Liz Hurley and Elle Macpherson could be heading for a mammoth fallout as both have their sights set on a coveted telly job.

The two maturing models are in the running to present a new fashion show, "Project Runway", a satellite show for up-and-coming fashion designers on the lines of the popular "Pop Idol" programme, reports Sky News.

A source was quoted as saying: "At first the programme makers were set on hiring Elle. But Liz wants to get the programme badly and has been bombarding the producers with phone calls to sell herself.

"She has sent an unbelievably professional video presentation of her work, and has boasted that she can use her celebrity fashion contacts like Donatella Versace to add flavour to the show. It's very competitive. We just hope it doesn't put their friendship in jeopardy."
