Halle Berry has had her dreams of starring in the US TV drama "Desperate Housewives" shattered by its cast - who reportedly claimed she would 'cheapen' the show, reports celebrity portal Femalefirst.

A source said: "The girls are protective of the show and feel it would be easy for someone like Halle to cheapen what they are trying to achieve - that and she's too beautiful!"

The rejection came just days after the Oscar winner publicly confessed she was desperate for a cameo as one of the show's baddies.

She revealed: "I want to be on the show. I'd have to be a villain. I want to stir up something naughty with Nicolette."
