Singer Mel C is desperate for her former band Spice Girls to regroup and perform at the Live 8 concert here.

The singer, known as Sporty Spice, said she would love to join the other four girls - Mel B, Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton and Victoria Beckham - for the charity concert but is not sure if the group is wanted, reports celebrity portal FemaleFirst.

She said: "I haven't officially been asked, I don't know if we're wanted or not. I'm well up for it and I'm sure everyone else is".

Mel C denied she would be the only stumbling block in the proposed reunion, but admitted she would have opposed the idea if the reunion meant earning more money.

She explained: "If it was just for financial gain I wouldn't be up for it. But this is for such a good cause and such a great thing I wouldn't have a problem".
