Rumours have surfaced that Michael Jackson could perform at the Live 8 concert scheduled for July 2 at Hyde Park here, reports Internet portal Ananova.
Jackson, who was Monday found not guilty of child molestation charges, might reportedly be trying to rebuild his ailing music career.
A performance at Live 8 could be his triumphant comeback. The concert has been organised to highlight poverty in Africa and leading musicians including Elton John, Sting,
Madonna, Mariah Carey and Robbie Williams are slated to perform.
The concert will be held simultaneously in London, Paris, Rome, Berlin and Philadelphia July 2.
The Sun reported that Live 8 promoter Harvey Goldsmith has left the door open for the star to appear at the Philadelphia leg of the shows saying: "Obviously we'd consider
it," when asked about the possibility of the singer performing.
According to a Live 8 source an appearance is not ruled out despite concerns over Jackon's health: "There are obviously concerns about Jackson playing, but now he's in the
clear there's no reason why he can't join the line-up. No matter what's happened he's a music legend."
