Days after vehemently denying having a relationship with his onscreen "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" co-star Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt is set to team up with her ex-husband Billy Bob Thornton for a project.

Thornton will star in "Peace Like a River" and Pitt will serve as producer, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The film is an adaptation of a book by Leif Enger, about an American family that gets into a vengeful battle with some neighborhood bullies, the People magazine website reports.

As for Thornton, who was married to Jolie from 2000-2003 and had one of the most publicized passionate relationships in Hollywood, he has just completed a remake of "Bad News Bears" set to open in July.
