"Ocean's Eleven" actor-director George Clooney has finally ended his precarious relationship with model-cum-TV presenter Lisa Snowden.

According to Clooney, it was because their on-off relationship had "nowhere to go", reports the Internet Movie Database.

Clooney and Snowden had been dating intermittently for the past five years but broke up after realising that the relationship was a strain since Clooney resides in the US and Snowden in England.

They discussed the breakup over the phone, admitting it was altogether amicable and agreed to remain friends with no animosity between them.

Doubts about Clooney's level of commitment were fuelled recently when he said in an interview that he doesn't believe he has any "moral obligation" to settle down and have a family.

He had further added: "I've been too busy to give enough of my personal time to take care of a woman, raise children and be a decent father."
