"Mean Girls" actress Lindsay Lohan prefers to stay out of controversies.
The 18-year-old, who attended the opening of the first De Beers LV diamond store in the US, refused to comment on protests that accompanied the store's inauguration,
reports People.com.
Lohan was present along with her mother and several celebrities for the store's opening on Manhattan's Fifth Avenue.
Protesters, including the writer Gloria Steinem, were protesting against the diamond company saying it has pushed the Kalahari bushmen of Botswana from their native land
to mine for diamonds.
