Halle Berry has signed up Alicia Keys for her new film "Composition of Black and White".

Alicia will take the lead role in the movie to be produced by Berry, reports news portal Ananova.

The film is based on Kathryn Talalay's novel about inter-racial pioneer Philippa Schuyler, reports Contactmusic.com.

Halle said: "I adore Alicia and there's nobody more perfect for it than her."

Speaking about the role Keys said: "It's a pretty big honour for me."
