"War of the Worlds" actor Tom Cruise and his fiancée Katie Holmes are planning a Scientology wedding slated for next month.

The couple will tie the knot at the Scientology headquarters in Los Angeles before going for a honeymoon on a yacht, reports Hollywood.com.

Cruise's previous marriages were to Mimi Rogers and Nicole Kidman.

A source at the Scientology centre says: "Tom has encouraged Katie to embrace our faith and they have agreed to a Scientology wedding service."

"It has become a prerequisite of Tom's that the closest people in his life should also be scientologists. He was mortified when Nicole turned her back on his faith but is overjoyed that Katie has embraced it."

Cruise had reportedly tried to convert the Oscar-nominated actress Scarlett Johnasson but she "escaped" just in time.
