Steven Spielberg is slated to release his new movie in December, and has just begun shooting for the film.
Universal studios issued a statement confirming that production is under way on the as-yet-untitled film on the
terrorist shootout in the 1972 Olympics. The film stars Eric Bana ("'Hulk") and the Oscar winner Geoffrey
Rush.
Shooting is set to take place in New York and a number of European cities.
The movie is based on actual events that took place when 11 Palestinian terrorists planned and carried out
attacks at the 1972 Munich Olympics in which many members of Israel's Olympic team were killed.
Spielberg, a two-time Oscar winner for "Schindler's List" and "Saving Private Ryan", is, according to many
leading critics, set to win his third Oscar with this forthcoming movie.
