Paramount Studios has been slammed for its insensitivity in announcing its new film based on the 9/11 terror attacks in the US a mere two hours after the July 7 London
bombings.
According to the Internet Movie Database, the entertainment paper Variety broke the news of Paramount's badly timed announcement.
The film, to be directed by Oscar winning director Olive Stone, stars Nicolas Cage as real-life cop John McLoughlin who survived New York's World Trade Centre
bombing.
According to a source, "The movie giants have shocked the public with their inadvertent display of double standards - (after the 9/11 attacks) studios and broadcasters
avoided any theme reminiscent of the devastating attacks on New York's World Trade Centre, even erasing images of the towers from film stock where possible."
