After declaring that British comic Ricky Gervais is the funniest man on the planet, Madonna is now begging him for a job.

According to The Sun, she is desperate to be on the new TV show called "Extras". A source told the paper: "When Madonna asked for a part in the next series of 'Extras', she shook hands with Ricky and he said, 'You do know that is a verbal contract!' They are both keen and Ricky's planning on keeping Madonna to her word. She's a massive fan of 'The Office' and she'll be great in 'Extras'."

To prove her desperation, Madonna went as far as to say, "I told him I would sweep his floor for him if he would employ me." The first series of "Extras" will release in theatre this month and features such stars as Kate Winslet and Ben Stiller.
