Controversial singer Christina Aguilera has slammed reports that she slashed two tendons in a fight with a fan recently.

There were reports that the singer was injured in a fight with a drunken fan in a Paris nightclub, according to the Internet Movie database.

Aguilera insists she sustained the injury at home.

The rumours were fuelled when Aguilera was spotted wearing bandages on her right arm.

To rebuff the claims, Aguilera's publicist said that the pop star had cut her hand on a piece of glass at her Los Angeles home. "Her arm will remain in the cast for a few weeks as it heals."

The representative provided no further details about the incident, but said the tabloid reports of Aguilera's supposed fight actually came from a two-year-old story that had been mixed up with the star's current injury, which "had nothing to do with a fan".
